Write a letter to your parent that’s the same sex as your partner. In the letter express all your disappointments and appreciations for them. Now read the letter to someone you can trust; notice how you feel while you’re reading the letter.

Get to know your relationship tendencies:
1. List the attributes of your current and past partners.
2. Make a list of the attributes of each of your parents.
3. Make a list of your attributes of your personality.
4. Note common personality attributes.
5. List the reasons each of your past relationships dissolved.
6. Note common causes of your relationships ending.
